The event lifecycle
Every event has a status that controls where it can be opened and where it appears to admins. New events start as Live. Organization admins can change the status under Event → Settings → Management, directly above Duplicate event, or from the organization's Events page.
An organization's status is the parent rule. If the organization is Private or Demo, all its event websites and apps are team-only even when an event is Live, and the persistent admin bar shows the organization status instead of the event status.
Live
Use Live for an event that attendees and operators should be able to access.
- Websites and the app are publicly accessible, and the Terminal is enabled.
- Shown in the admin sidebar and the account event selector.
- Included under the Live tab on the organization's Events page.
Live controls access; dates, capacity, and the sign-up deadline still determine whether registration is open.
Private
Use Private while the admin team is building or reviewing an event.
- Websites and the app are only accessible to event and organization team members; anonymous visitors and other signed-in users cannot open them.
- The Terminal remains enabled for its authorized operators.
- Authorized team members can still open and edit the event.
- The event remains in the admin sidebar and account event selector.
- Included under the Private tab on the organization's Events page.
Private event pages show an amber status bar at the top of the admin area, which stays visible while you scroll.
Archive
Use Archive for a finished or inactive event that should no longer clutter regular navigation.
- Websites and the app remain accessible to event and organization team members only.
- The Terminal is disabled.
- Hidden from the admin sidebar and account event selector.
- Kept under the Archive tab on the organization's Events page, where authorized admins can still open, edit, or restore it.
Archived event pages show a gray status bar at the top of the admin area, which stays visible while you scroll.
Important: Archiving is not deletion. It keeps the event, participants, configuration, and other data intact. Use Danger Zone only when you intend to permanently delete an event.
Organize events
Open the organization's Events page to switch between status tabs. Within each tab, drag an event by its handle to change its order. Changing status moves the event to the end of its new group.
You can move an event back to Live at any time to make its websites and app public again, enable the Terminal, and return it to regular admin navigation.
