Terminal & Kiosk overview
The Terminal is your on-site check-in tool. It runs in a web browser on a phone, tablet, or a physical check-in kiosk and walks through a short sequence of steps to admit each attendee.
How it's built
The Terminal is a wizard made of blocks (steps) that you arrange yourself. The core steps are:
- Scan QR Code — the camera reads an attendee's ticket QR code.
- Finish — confirms the check-in and resets for the next person.
- A payment prompt can also appear if an attendee still owes a balance at the door.
You configure these steps in the terminal builder — see Configuring your terminal flow.
Two ways to run it
- Staffed — a team member operates the device and scans tickets.
- Self-service kiosk — set up a device and let attendees check themselves in.
Self Service
If you are running self service, whether in a rented kiosk, or simply an ipad, you want to make sure that participants cannot exit the terminal. To ensure a seamless experience download the FireVue Events Terminal app.
- Apple App Store: FireVue Events Terminal (iOS)
- Google Play Store: FireVue Events Terminal (Android)

Simply log in with you usual credentials, and the app will list all available events to lunch the terminal.
To ensure that the user cannot exit the app, enable guided access:
- iOS instructions on how to start guided access, to disable exiting the app.
- Android instructions on how to enable app pinning, to disable exiting the app.
No ticket to scan?
When someone can't present a QR code, check them in by name from the check-in view in your dashboard. See Scanning & manual check-in.
Watch arrivals live
The check-in view shows who has arrived in real time, so you always know where things stand.
